When I was a kid I use to goto Carlisle with my dad and his '57 tbird. A few years ago Pete and I went just to look at the cars and look through all the for sale stuff. Since then Pete has been back with his Merkur buddies on the show field but I haven't gone due to a conflicting dates with other annual events. This year I decided to forgo the 'other' events and attend Carlisle (and Watkins Glen the following Monday/Tuesday).

Both of us entered our cars in the show field since we had them with us anyway for WGI, I went mostly for the track days and Carlisle was a stop in between. I admit, I did throw on a nice coat of wax for the show though. However, in the end I wasn't there to show, but I did win 3rd place in class G07/Pro Mod!!! When you win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in your class on the show field all the cars are moved to a 'Winners Field' on Sunday and then participate in a parade to get your prize. They also take your picture in front of the grand stands.

There were some very nice cars in attendence there some highlights below,

• Tow truck driver destroying the clutch on a Ford GT, yes, a real Ford GT, big smoke!
• Alleged 850hp Twin Turbo mustang making ~450 on the dyno in front of 300 or so people...
• Running into old mustang buddies that I hadn't seen in a few years
• Actually winning something!
